September 27, 2007

At the September meeting of the YA Advisory Board we had 13 in attendance. At this meeting we had several discussion topics, including: Books to order, Programs to host, and improvements in attendance and quality of YA Board meetings. Book requests included the graphic novel series Vampire Knight, the magazine Game Informer and the title Tears of the Tiger*. Programming suggestions included Typing, Calligraphy, and Courtesy and Respect. It was suggested that to improve the quality of the meeting that the serving of Pizza be suspended, many of the members believe that there are people coming to the meetings only for the pizza. Another suggestion was to include YA programing in the morning announcements at the local schools, the YA librarian will contact the schools to see if this is a viable option. The meeting also included a period of discussion for upcoming events, new materials, and proper behavior in a library environment. The next meeting will be on October 25 at 3:30 p.m.

*After the meeting it was discovered that the library already owns the title Tears of the Tiger and it is currently available.
